if you stay in a hotel then you don't need to worry about health issues.

also if you drive (or rent a car/taxi) to go around, it wouldn't be a problem either.

it would be wise to avoid slum areas (which of course are not tourist attractions anyway...)

things are getting pretty normal today, i am sure next week would be even better.

have a nice trip!

well, till next week jakarta will still flooding, even not bad as these week. if you stay in a hotel health won't be an issue, the only problem is traffic jam in some area especially in west Jakarta and north Jakarta. If you come here for business purpose i think you no need to cancel your trip.

Flooding in Jakarta is really bad right now. But if you really need to go to Jakarta go to the south. I think it's less flooding than the other parts

If your trip to Jakarta in for a vacation time, it will be better to stay at the airport and book a flight to Yogyakarta (leaves the same day, cheap flights).

If you have been in Jakarta before, you know that the open waste canals are full of human waste. You do not wish to walk around a a tourist in an area that has so much human misery going on...

Cancel your trip, or continue the flight to Yogyakarta. You can still decide to take a train back from Yogyakarta to Jakarta.

Good luck!

next week must be .. 11-17 february? i think its ok already..
just stay at center of jakarta or north jakarta, free from flooding.. or at least just a little flood.
center of jakarta: just stay at sari pan pasific hotel or grand hyatt or mandarin oriental or ibis hotel. avoid east and west of jakarta..
and you'll have mall, entertainment, and restaurants around there..
north of jakarta: maybe u can stay at ibis hotel or alila hotel..
but i think today (which is friday) is much2 better now . hopefully, it wont rain again..till next week.

No worries about flood...all dried up.
If you stay in hotel 3* above, no worries of those 2 issues you asked.
If your purpose is to have vacation, I suggest you to extend it till June/July...wheather is more favorable

If you are going as a tourist, the big inexpensive tourist street will most likely be under water. 340,000 people are homeless! I would imagine this might not be the best time to be there.

don't worry. Just get a good quality taxi from the airport.
