Shouldn't they be putting their time to better use (talk about their favorite team or player)? Do they enjoy hurting others? Or do they simply enjoy the arguments?

I don't think it is to hurt others feelings, it's just their opinion on any particular player or team. Even if we ask about our favorite players or teams as suggested, they are bound not to be someone else's favorites. So whether we ask about players and teams we like or dislike you will get both types of answers anyway. Most times it's not with any malicious intent.

I equally don't understand why some people tend to ask so many questions about a certain player!
