If you are over the age of 18, Second Life is good and free unless you wish to own land and then you would have to pay $9.95/month.
It's not a FPS, but it does allow you to to things you can't do in your First Life. :D

runescape is pretty fun, and its free. but if you want it to be funner you can be a member for 5$ a month
