This is one of the deepest questions I have seen in awhile. I know for a fact that my "monster" within is very, very ugly, hateful, rude, confused etc.. The only thing I found to keep it at bay is to stay very focused on a goal at hand. For me it's college. I have tried the anti-depressants, and they work for awhile (years even) however when you decide to wean yourself from all additions in life (I had tons) then dealing with this monster gets a lot harder. Stay focused and pray for strength. Good question!

Decide to get past what ever caused this to exist. Work on finding a vocation, a creative passion for something that can express who you are, tames the beast. Practice kindness and don't sweat the small stuff. Tell yourself you're worth more than the judgement of others and walk away from them, they are not worth your time. It is their problem, you have wonderful energy spilling out of you only in the wrong way.

Most of the time, it's not hard, because he's not being "summoned."

Everyone's "monster" is different and reacts to different stimuli.

We all have a few things that we will just NOT tolerate, and we usually do not hesitate to voice our opinion or even take action as the situation warrants.

These days, I'm not around the people that would antagonize my "monster."

You have to deal with the monster inside you... not to avoid it..
You have to face your own monster not to shun it or else it will become like a shark attacking you back again and again.....
Face your demons and deal with them is the best way to tame them. :)
