Just went to a party and sucked all the helium out of about 30 balloons, and I feel pretty weird. Is this a bad thing? I did it so I could talk all funny, but now I feel high. Is there anything bad to this? If so what can I do?

Here's an excerpt from an article on the internet: "But the U.S. Compressed Gas Association warned that inhaling helium is dangerous because it can quickly lead to brain damage and death from lack of oxygen."

So do you think it's a good thing to do? Call your doctor and don't do this again.

Reality check. THAT WAS STUPID!!!! Actually inhaling any substance into your lungs in excess other than oxygen could actually kill you! Oxygen goes into your lungs and then in your blood system and you've replaced that with helium. You could be damaging internal organs not to mention brain cells. I'd consider calling the poison control centre or going to emergency. Next time THINK FIRST!!!!

Remember you are replacing the oxygen in the air you are breathing with a gas that can kill you. Figure that lack of oxygen is a good reason to feel light headed.

It is just a different way to sufficate
