do you know if they replaced the fuel filter with the pump. it wouldn't be the carb, you don't have one, the car is fuel injected. find someone else. try some fuel injection cleaner $2.50 at the gas station or parts store. airfilter should be replaced after 10,000 mi. O2 sensor might be a problem, or dare i say the computer, yikes.

a 99 should be fuel injected.if it is,clean out the throttle body.it cant idle if it cant breathe.also if the engine light is on,check the throttle position sensor and the idle air control sensor.it could be the air filter,if its dirty.also hows the gas filter?it might need changing.

Check engine light ever come on? if so I would have it scanned it could be a number of sensors that cause your problem. How does it run otherwise under acceleration?

Well u should have fuel injection not a carborator so yea it might be carbon build up.

check and clean the EGR valve, a friends car ran like crap and i pulled the egr cleaned it of carbon buildup and it ran perfect, there a small rod in there that should float back and forth if it clog it chokes the motor, ask someone to help you, it a small part and easy to take out.

in order to answer this properly it would be neccessary to know the engine size. there are only a few things that can cause this...depending on the mileage and the engine it could be that your timing belt/chain is stretched and the timing is off.
Please tell us the engine size if you can...then perhaps we can be of more help
