I have to make a mini light show/ mini musical exbitat. What are some simple ways to do it. Its due 2/12

A musical light show?
The fastest you can built is the light organ (1,2). This is is an old, cheap and proven device. The music modulated laser is fantastic but more expensive (see musclaser link supplied).
Ref #3 is more interesting however uses the same principle.
You can also modulate your light using different frequencies instead of volume or amplitude modulation. For that you can employ narrow bandpass filters to detect different frequencies.
