Well my slippery little friend, allow me to enlighten you a little.
I work in the Middle East as a DoD Contractor, I've been here for almost 4 years now. As someone who is here voluntarily, and making decent money to do my job, I was surprised to see people here who talk just like you. I don't understand how someone can be here making money off of this war when they are completely against it, our troops and the government that sent them here.
They say stuff like "Bush just started this war for oil" or "Cheney is profiting off of Halliburton being here." I look at them and say;
"You're doing the exact same thing, the difference it's a fact with you."
As a Republican I will tell you this, if Bush (whom I support) came out and said that tomorrow, I would quit my job immediately. The main reason I am here is because I believe in what we're doing, if I lost that belief I would quit. No money is worth my morals.
Secondly, I would demand the impeachment of our President and ALL OF THE CONGRESS MEMBERS THAT SENT US HERE (which was all but 2 I believe).
The facts that you don't have are this though.
On several occasions Iraq has offered to pay us back what we have invested in their country with oil but we turn them down every time. We have not taken any oil from Iraq that wasn't paid for at the current competitive price of oil.
Oh, and this wasn't part of your question but I'll address it anyway. Cheney does not profit from Halliburton being here. He sold ALL OF HIS shares a long time before the war began and elect a spaced out payment plan (like with the lotto) that is a set amount of money REGARDLESS of how Halliburton's stock is doing. So if they go up or down he still gets the same amount. He makes no more money at all.
Bill Clinton owns a piece of the company that builds a lot of our military vehicles though......

You are far too blithe and dismissive about the solemn gravity people inevitably feel when they reach the Oval Office. People rise to the occasion, knowing that their decisions will affect history, for decades, for centuries, or forever.
Bush did not start a war for callous reasons. Presidents who hold office during wartime age prematurely, and I'm sure you can see the visible effects it has had on Bush. Do you think he would willingly put himself through this hell if it weren't for the good of the country? Don't be naive.

A lot of people would feel betrayed by Bush (for being lied too) and he would probably get impeached as a result. The anti-war left would say "I told you so."

I don't know about a full-scale invasion but dropping bombs has been considered acceptable for a long time to protect our financial and resource interests
I am completely against it; we can build a greater nation by building a better world than we can by destroying the competition, and either way, unless we are going to literally die of starvation, killing for resources is wrong, right?
of course to me it seems clinton was immorally bombing Iraq to lower the price of oil but bush immorally invaded Iraq to raise it.

Nothing since the claim is false and no matter how many "ifs" are implied it still is not true and cannot be backed up with any source. But to answer, we would hold him responsible (at least I would)

This sells them short. Many Republicans are decent and upstanding people, in the vein of Ford or Eisenhower.
I am thinking they want their party back from the Neocons who drove the GOP off a clif.

Where is all this oil that we got from starting the war in iraq? oh, right. bush stole it all and he is keeping it in barrels at his ranch in texas. Then when the supplies get, like, super low and stuff, he is going to be the only guy with oil and make millions, which would make him even more richer than he is now! only an ivy league liberal genius could understand such a plan.

So Bush is evil and stupid at the same time? Like the bad guys from The Pink Panther?

Interesting.
You ask a hypothetical question, clearly designed to denigrate the President; and then you answer it in a manner clearly intended to denigrate Republicans.
I have to wonder, why bother asking the question?

its not about "whats good for business is good for America" its about "what's good for America is good for me". If control of middle eastern oil reserves is good for my country then I'm ok with it. Get it through your head, we love our country and I for one don't honestly care about anyone else, because they don't care about me. Most human beings would murder you in the street for your watch if they could get away with it. I don't care about them.
