Hi. I am gay-curious...leaning towards gay right now. I have a 16 year old friend whom I like and am interested in (very) and I am also 16 and not sure if he is gay. He has never had a GF, he always dresses nice, and does other things to make me think he is gay. However, I think he may be shy about the subject because we wink, smile, often look at each other when there are lots of people around, and when we're alone, but I just think he's too shy to make the first move, that is if he is gay. So I was wondering, would asking him something along the lines of, "What would you do if you were in a dark room and someone kissed you, and it felt real good? You did not know the sex of the person. What would you do?" Any response is much appreciated. We are going to the beach for summer vacation (separately but at the same beach and time...just not housing together etc...) Thanks!!!

I would NEVER ask THAT question to a guy if i doubted he was gay. Just advance the relationship as if you are just too guys who hang out together and see what happens.But as for the dressing nice and never had a girlfriend that sounds gay to me. That vacation would be great for you to really find out, just keep acting like just two guys who are just friends and by the time that vacation comes you should know. Also you might want to watch the news together in case a gay rights thing comes up and you can talk about that his opinion should give you a clue.

He's probably not gay.
I think that you want to be pretty careful before you try to find out.
Asking the dark room question will freak him out if he's straight and spoil a gr8 friendship.
You'd be smarter to eventually, tell him that you are gay!!!
That is far safer than asking questions that show you are attracted to him, etc, etc.
(Worse thing you can do is actually "accidentally" touch the guy.
One of my 'friends" did this approach on me. Yuck. I he'd told me he was gay, I'd still be his friend. )
If you let him know you're gay, first, if he's gay, then he may eventually let you know as well.
If you do plan to come out to the guy, you probably want to avoid situations that will look bad in retrospect, one's he knows your gay.

First ask him is he gay! And if his answer is positive, than you can ask him everything else!
