You should see a doctor. It sounds like you may suffer from sleep apnea. This is not something to play around with. In sleep apnea the body does not get enough air because peridoically stops breathing. As far as the numbness that could be from a build up of carbon dioxide in the blood stream.
I really feel that this is a medical condition that you need to see your doctor about.

Sleep paralysis is a condition characterized by temporary paralysis of the body shortly after waking up (known as hypnopompic paralysis) or, less often, shortly before falling asleep (known as hypnagogic paralysis).
Physiologically, it is closely related to the normal paralysis that occurs during REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, also known as REM atonia. In that, some scientists and physicians believe it to be a "natural" effect of the sleep cycle. Sleep paralysis occurs when the brain is awakened from a REM state into essentially a normal fully awake state, but the bodily paralysis is still occurring. This causes the person to be fully aware, but unable to move. In addition, this state may be accompanied by hypnagogic hallucinations.
More often than not, sleep paralysis is believed by the person affected by it to be no more than a dream. This is the reason why there are many dream recountings which describe the person lying frozen and unable to move. The hallucinatory element to sleep paralysis makes it even more likely that someone will interpret the experience as simply a dream, as one might see completely fanciful objects in a room alongside the normal vision one can see.

It's called ''Sleep Paralysis''.
Sleep paralysis is a condition characterized by temporary paralysis of the body shortly after waking up (known as hypnopompic paralysis) or, less often, shortly before falling asleep (known as hypnagogic paralysis).
The Nightmare, by Henry Fuseli (1781) is thought to be one of the classic depictions of sleep paralysis perceived as a demonic visitation.Physiologically, it is closely related to the normal paralysis that occurs during REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, also known as REM atonia. that happens some times. it's called sleep paralysis.it just means that your body needs sleep and goes to sleep before you. your mind was also half asleep so it couldn't process the commands sent telling you to move. don't worry you're ok. you just need to sleep more and drink more liquids and don't take sleeping pills. if it starts to happen on a regular basis then you need to see a doctor about it. there is a disorder like sleep paralysis but it is more severe and happens regularly and comes with seizures and other stuff.

Probably you entered REM and fell in so deeply, then your whole body found it so hard to "come back". No need to worry, just remember next time it happens, youre in total control of your mind and body, dont get desperated and always remember to breathe!
