I agree. Goldfish are voracious plant eaters. Also they leave a lot of waste and that along with the nitrates the plants will produse will tend to foul the water very quickly. So really its a choice between the fish or the plants. If you like live plants go with tropical warm water fish like platys, mollies, and swordtails. If you like the fish better go with sturdy silk or plastic plants.

I wouldn't really suggest a goldfish tank wth live plants. That would be like a goat at a salad bar! The live plants would mostly be snacks for the goldfish in no time at all.

Nothing. Goldfish nto only eat the plants, but they like to play with small gravel and can accidentally swallow it and die. Large rocks are better for goldfish or barebottom tanks.
