I think that no publisher really wants to read work from a 13 year old, but I am a really good writer and i get straight A's in my english class and language classes . Also, I have many interesting and unique ideas for stories . Lately I have been writing a book and I am starting a new one but I am afraid I will have to wait until im like out of highschool until a publisher will even read my work . Thoughts anyone?

i have read a great book by a 14 yr old so i guess there is no reason stopping you from submitting yours as i too are a writer i would like to get my books published you just need to do some research like what genre is your book and who publishes those sort of books as a lot of publishers only want certain genres like horror or comedy etc... i suggest going to your local library or book shop and see what publishers there are and what sort of things they publish. Then you can go on their websites and look around for information.

If I were you I would go for it! It doesn't matter how old you are, if you really are a great writer they won't care what your age is. My thoughts on how to get it published? You said you have lots of ideas right? Well don't put them all out there at once. Pick a really good idea of yours, not your best. Write a short story and try to get it in the newspapers. Do that for a little while with other good ideas. See how people react to your stories and then make the necessary changes. Once people start responding well to your stories pick another good topic, but not your best and write a book and then send that to as many publishing companies as you can. Your first book will be the hardest to get published. But once that is a success then you can keep writing books. Wait a while to put your best idea out there. If nothing works right away keep trying and don't give up. Maybe if nothing happens now, you can keep writing and expanding your mind and become an even more amazing writer.

Brii:
Not so! They don't care how old you are. If they like your work that is only what matters. Try sending your work.
Check The net for publishers, They will tell you what they handle.
It is not easy to find one. I wrote two books and after many manuscripts sent out I only recieved three answers and all to the negitive. One came back to me with an answer three years later. I went the self publish route then and it is a hard row to hoe. I did okay only because i am retired and had time to do many book signings. The publishers will tell you how they want the manuscript sent to them. If by chance they except your work, they will give you an upfront $ amount and as a new writer you will recieve a small percentage per book sold. Maybe say 15%. The best sellers authors can demand up to 80 -90 %?? Hope this helps. Oh! best go to (Warnings and Cautions for Writers) There are bad guys out there trying to take advantage of you for your $$.

Don't let the publishing company know your real age. Pretend to be an adult. Ever read The School Story (by Andrew Clements)? That's what the main character did.

bBut, really, if your story is good, your age doesn't matter. Have you heard of The Prophacy of the Stones? The author's 15. AND the book was translated into English and who know what other langueges.

i take issue with people writing, "go for it", it gives a false sense of hope. no it doesn't necessarily matter what age you are but quite recently the publishing and entertainment industry have been hit hard by people claiming to be younger than they are, a couple of young writers plagiarizing work and a lot of people together falsifying their identities. basically a lot of money was lost and I don't any publishing companies will to take any chances right now.
so sadly, and this is how it goes for every writer of every age, no matter how good your book is or isn't if they can't make or if they might lose money it won't get published.

Not necessary.why wait for someone to print it for you.?write it., but it on a disc, from your computor, take the disc to a printer, they will print each book for about 3 dollars, you can design it ,put pictures in it on The pages. get creative, take your time, then send some copys to publishers, but you will have your book!!. good luck to you, keep your dream, go for it.
Oh.painting address numbers on peoples curbs and driveways in front of their homes. is making me an average of 20 dollars an hour part time, so paint some numbers for your neighbours. So you will have the money to pay them to print your book

many of the advice others are providing you with is powerful, and you look better than clever adequate to sort by and discover what facilitates you the main. the only element i could upload is this: do not provide up. Literary history if crammed with examples of now famouse writers who had to place up a narrative or novel fifty cases or extra before getting printed. Onward!

If you believe you can do it, you should! There are many young authors out there so don't let your age hold you back. Keep at it and see where it takes you.
