Why should we care about what happens in other parts of the world?

Because, ultimately, everything relates to you personally or impersonally, directly or indirectly. Since you are (alive, here in this reality), you also own the world. Rather, you are a part of it. We are all part of it. If you notice someone affected by something on the other side of the planet, it still affects you - because it's within you (your awareness). I am far from you, yet the message in this text is conveyed in your awareness. Thus, we are intimately connected.

because its everyones responsibility to make this world a better place, like wwII if the United States didnt get involved we would have been takin over by the Nazi's because there army's would have increased dramatically. So we cant just sit back and relax and tell all those other people to **** off, we go by moral beliefs and to just let people die and not care whats happening is very unmoral.

Because it's all about caring.if all these nasty politicians had learned to care the world would be a different place.I once read a quote from a Nobel prizewinner in a museum:The opposite of love is not hate but indifference.

Because we are all interconnected. What was that poem which started, "No Man is an Island....... So if there is a disaster somewhere else, because we are human we tend to respond to the cries of those in need and we send help.

It is because we are all interconnected in the species system. The whole system cannot sustain itself if part of the system is malfunction. We are part of one body of the living system. We hurts when we see others hurt. We feel sorry when we see others are miserable. It is built in our gene to be One. That's why we care for others
