A man can have more of a choice of women later in his life, but a woman's value in the marriage market decreases with age. Would you ditch your aging wife and get a prettier/younger one when you get older/richer? Personally, I would, but would you?

Depends if I had enough money to get a really good looking younger one after my wife took half of my stuff!!!

The presumption raised in the question is that only wife changes in looks with age. It is wrong. But the fact remains that both men and women loose their value in the market with age. It is a different matter that men may be wealthier to compensate the partner for the loss of body charm.

u might also be old and ugly too, and might be just used for your money and dump ted by someone younger. don't kid yourself u won't look much better as the aging process comes on all of us. no i would never leave a spouse because of a physical thing, or if they trained ugly as beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I really hope not. Building a life with someone takes so much effort and work. Why would you want to start over?? It doesn't show that you have much personal depth and intelect that you would. In the end your young beautiful wife might leave you and then you would die sad and alone. :( This is truly dissapointing :(

No, I wouldn't. When I said my vows to my wife...I meant them.....it wasn't any lip service or nothing like that. I have been by my wife's side through all kinds of problems.......and will continue to do so. I couldn't hurt her by leaving her for something else. I look forward to growing old with my wife.

If they do that's just moronic. In the vows it says, "Til death." I married for love and love lasts longer than beauty. But sometimes you can fall out of love with the person's personality but if you really loved the person not by looks.

It doesn't matter if she/he is old and ugly - You should love them anyway. Love goes beyond age. It's in your heart. Creating and being with someone for years and loving them through thick and thin is something very special.

Huh you seems shallow and mean... Not only do our looks fade BUT so does yours pal. My husband would never leave me for my looks fading and getting older and i would not leave him either. It is inner beautfy that lasts forever and shines through. Just remember that. He would never ditch me and i would not ditch him either. Til death do we part.
