In recognition of the NCAA basketball tournament coming up, here is a tournament question. How many games must be played in the tournament to determine a winner (ignore the pre-tournament game, assume there are 64 teams)?

Whoever wins 6 games in the NCAA tournament wins the title
Math is involved because you divide the number 64 in half to get to the next round 32 then its 16 then it is 8 then its4 and then 2 and finally 1 (64,32,16,8,4,2--Champion(1)=63 games

the tourney starts out with 64 teams so there are 32games in the first round if you lose you go home. after the first round there will be 32 teams left 16 games in the second round leaving 16 teams and so on until there are only 2 teams left playing for the national championship like the gators did last year
2006 national champions were the Florida Gators
GO GATORS
