I think the best thing King ever wrote was The Green Mile, after that I would say Needful Things.
The movie was ok but nothing compares to his books.

My personal favorite of all time though is, The Stand. The Dark Tower series is also very good.

Personally I think "it" is better because it explores the semmingy innocent horrors of childhood and how they can affect the future. However, the movie sucks.
