My car is a 2000 Sunfire, and I was on less than a 1/4 tank of gas, I think the gas may have frozen and caused a crack in the tank or fuel line when I refueled.

The actual liquid form of gas cannot catch fire, it is actually the vapors of gas that will catch fire. If you can find where the gas is leaking from, somehow try to seal the leak with some tape and go immediately to your mechanic.

No it will not explode when you drive it. 2000 sunfire its a good chance its a fuel line going to your fuel filter that is leaking. It is a quick and easy fix. No the gas did not freeze and crack your tank or gas lines.

If it is leaking gas I would deffinatley not drive it it is not worth the danger. The 2000 sunfire has a plastice gas tank that can be purchased at most salvage yards for around $50 to $70.

Its possible that if there is a leak for the car to catch fire, however a car exploding is very rare and needs to be in the right conditions. It should be fixed as soon as possible

absolutely! a gas leak is nothing to fool with. tow it; do not drive it, to a repair shop. anybody that tells you differently i would bet would not be willing to ride in a car with the same fuel leakage. be safe here; not stupid.

i don't think gas freezes its the water in the tank that would freeze or in the gasoline

It can't explode unless you put explosives in it. It can catch fire and burn to the ground.
