Is it true that the television show "Heroes" is based loosely on the graphic novel "Watchmen" by Alan Moore?
I'm reading "Watchmen" at the moment, and none of the characters are the same, but the plot is very similar.

It's been quite awhile since I read Watchmen, but I don't see much in common between the two. There are a couple items which might seem similar at the beginning of the Watchmen story, but this will turn out very different than the direction Heroes seems to be going.
Heroes is definitely not based after Watchmen, though it'd probably be safe to say it probably had an influence (the same as Alan Moore's story did on all things comic related since it was published).
