I've got a 2 1/2 ft deep koi pond for 6 years but have not been able to find any plants that my koi don't leave alone

my neighbour have a koi pond and he planted 'cats tail' plant in it. don't try water lilies as their large leaves will eventually hide the koi. u may also want to check out in details on water plants, try this site: www.waterplants.com

Lots of luck. I've never seen plants in a koi pond. They eat everything.

I tried sweetflag and a lilly last year- the fish ate the bloom off my lilly, as well as most of the leaves, and chewed the sweetflag down to nothing! I've decided to keep the fish indoors in the tank and use the water garden/fountain for the plants!

Try some water hyacinths they look kind of like lettuce but prettier, and they don't get very big.
