The SW10 home page comes up every time we open the connection to the net. This is not our usual home page. This page is not appropriate for our children to see. In addition, it automatically connects to the internet after we have closed our connection. HELP PLEASE!!

This is the best anti-spyware solution there is: CounterSpy. You can get a free trial. I highly recommend that you have a good anti-spyware program on your computer as well as an anti-virus.

Your browsers home page has been hijacked .

(1) Get you self a good antivirus or a free one .
(2) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot do that now .
(3) Do an online virus scan to check if you still have any other viruses in your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

If the above steps do not remove the hijack then you would need to
(4) Download hijackthis
(5) Post the hijackthis log on the hijackthis forum for the hijackthis experts to take a look

To prevent further homepage hijacks

6) Install and use firefox while browsing
7) Install and run spywareblaster
# Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted software.
# Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
# Restrict the actions of potentially unwanted sites in Internet Explorer.

I assume you already looked in MyComputerAddDelete Programs and it wasnt in there to delete. Regardless of which AntiVirus or other software you use that thing will "self heal" and install again upon start up. You need to do a system restore of your registry at a date BEFORE SW10 entered your Registry. Pick a restore date before problem arose.

Delete best you can with Anti software you have , then Go to Start, Program, Accesoreis, System, System Restore and use the calendar boxes. After Restore is complete, Reboot computer and see if its Gone.

You may have downloaded some viruses or spyware by accident.

Spyware removal:

Download and run Spybot S & D and Ad-Aware SE from http://www.download.com

Virus Removal:

Download and run the Free home edition of Avast in boot-time mode from http://www.avast.com

Hope this helps.
