Warriors books by Erin Hunter?

Is it okay to read the Warriors: The New Prophecy series without reading the original series. Ive already started Moonlight and there are kind of too many books to go back and read all of them. But do you recommend reading the first series? It would be not as good because I already know really what has happened from what it says in the one I'm reading.

I guess I won't because I have already looked it all up on Wikipedia and it says what happens in every book so I have an idea of what has happened.

you dont need to, but the first series seems better. CROWFEATHER OWNS ALL THOSE WARRIOR KITTIES!!!!!!
