My mother in law said blood was thicker than water, then she told my husband to choose between us (3 months before our wedding). She didn't like his choice. You should talk to your husband about this. Explain that although you are not "blood", you are the one he wanted to spend his life with. He should stand up for you. If he has no backbone with his family, he needs to get one. He should not let anyone treat you disrespectfully, even his family. Perhaps he thinks you can stand up for yourself, but when it's his family treating you that way it is his place to say something.

Water is a liquid substance. It does not matter how clear water appears to be the fact that its a liquid substance - gurantess its visibility. Water is more dense than air. Since we are looking through air into water the denser substance is always more evident. By definiton things that we cannot see are invisible. Like radio and microwaves. Things that are clear or completely transparent are not invisible. Take a perfectly clean mirror door for example. I`m sure some guy has walked face first into a glass door because he didn`t see it. But thats not because its invisible its because he was not paying attention. If u look really close at glass thats complelty transparent (see right through it) u can still become aware of the glass. U might now be able to tell where it stops and starts but u can see it because glass is denser than air. Substances/objects that are more dense than air are always visible.

Please excuse my language, but this is SUCH a bulls**t expression! What the heck does bloodline have to do with a person's character? Whether they are honest and forthright? Individuals are individuals. Hence the word. You can CHOOSE those people in your life to whom you wish to give importance! People don't necessarily get a free pass on all their actions(at least they should'nt), just because they're related. What if your family tree is loaded with shits? Should they be held to a lesser standard?HAYAL no! It SEEMS like a reasonable saying. But only if all people were the same. Same morality, values, etc. We're not. As evidenced by your spouse's flippant answer. And your(understandable) discomfort with his response. And remember, family dynamics can be a CRAZY thing revolving around personalities, internecine power struggles, politics, etc. etc. How your spouse responds in the midst of his family unit, and how he responds to you in the privacy of your own 'space', may be two different things. Sit down. Talk. And above all remember: You're in love!

you became blood when you became his wife, actually, more meaningful than blood...the wife takes the cheese..lol..he probably never took your feelings into consideration, because he never thought he was in anyway hurting you...men don't do real well with analizing the outcome of such things...yeah, just sit there and smile, you know you're the WIFE...now if he is treating you like ****, and not the wife, him, not them...then look out!You married wrong guy! If you are his wife, and that was only a comment made in front of family...be his wife, and relax, you know where you stand!

It's just a saying.
If you want to pay word games.
Blood may be thicker than water, but two who are married are one, and that's more soild the any liquid.
Blood loyalty does not exclude loyalty to others.
Blood may be thiker than water, but bad blood is best left in the dust. (as in ashes to ashes...dust to dust)
A lot of family trees have bad fruit. Some just have nuts.
And if his family constantly disses you, it's your choice to let him go alone. If they can manipulate him into your detriment, he's a loser you're best without.
