Another person who should not go to the law library! Dear, the Amendments protect the people against government. Laws are adopted by the federal, state and local governments to keep the people safe and cannot violate any Amendment to the Constitution. From your example, if anyone in imminent risk defends themselves when they believe they could be hurt or injured, it is self defense. This child would be protected by the law because there was serious duress at the time and "fight or flight" kicked in. But seriously, learn some terms before you write more legal questions.

there are no ammendments that will support this in court, but laws will help you.
you can use the constitution by saying he was trying to deprive me of my civil liberties toward freedom...etc....
but I know, as a ploice officer, you have the right to use any force you deem nessesary, up to and including lethal force to protect yourself, and others if you fear your life is in imminent danger.
if someone tries to kidnap me or one of my kids, the SOB would be dead....and I would be protected by laws!!!!
and the family of the victim cannot sue you for wrongfull death because of his attempted crimes.......

An amendment would not help in any case. Law would allow the child to kill his attacker to escape.
