That is a condition called Hirsuitism.

And sadly- the hormonal balance which causes it triggers off a pretty permanent growth.

There could be other causes but having a baby does alter one's hormonal set up a tad!

Dealing with this is not easy- there are three methods of removing hairs (if you are not happy to dye them a paler colour)-

1. Waxing which will, according to some schools of thought eventually weaken the hair and anyway make it longer lasting a removal and softer when it grows in (according to some it makes the hair grow stronger and darker because the trauma of pulling it out sends blood to the area and blood brings "nourishment" to the area and both thought schools appear to make sense!)

2. Shaving, the only permissable method to use with lasering (which believes that pulling the hair out causes the trauma as mentioned). This method, however, makes your skin leathery and the hair WILL get stronger and harder. Darker and well- scratchy as it is cut off and not grown new.

3. Laser treatment. There are two types and one is a longer process, which may be available on the NHS (if in the UK) or the newer IPL which uses a different type of light when works quickly and is more efficient. Apparently not available on the NHS and therefore not cheap. Treatments per session can range from £40 to £70 a shot. But you may only need 7 treatments. With the longer one expect to have it done for two years.

I am so sorry that this is an issue. :-( I wish I could say it will go away!

I did know of a woman that had a lot of hair on her face. I'm sorry that I don't remember the cause, I was pretty young. But, you could be lacking some estrogen. Or have an imbalance of some kind.

I do remember that the woman shaved her face and it was the worse thing she could have done. You may want to try to wax it, it'll hurt but it'll have longer lasting results.

Definitely see your doctor first!
Good Luck!

No, I never have had that problem. It sounds like a hormone problem. You need to talk to your doctor.
