I have a doctors appt on thursday to tell me whether I will be induced on this friday or tuesday of next week. My son has an after surgery appt on tuesday therefore, I really can't cancel it, does the doctor usually let you choose which day?

You need to simply tell the doctor about your son's medical appointment. Most doctors 'understand' and will do everything that they 'can' to make it 'easy for you' ... but that baby you are having 'induced' might just change everything around by deciding to 'be born' at 'just the wrong time' ...

I really reccomend that you don't get induced for labor. Especially if they are going to use pitocin.

I got induced and was in labor for 3 days to no avail. They ended up taking her by C-section which meant a longer recovery for me.

I read about 8 days after, that pitocin increases your risk to have a C-section. I was not told any of this before they induced me. I was not told that it also increases your risk for a ruptured uterus, which thankfully didn't happen.

I am not trying to rant, but I just don't want other to have to go through what I went through without knowing all the facts

Do doctors let you choose when you'll allow something to be done to you?

WTF?

Sorry.

You can, and should, refuse anything unnecessary that's being done at a doctor's convenience and not your own.

Why on earth are you agreeing to an induction in the first place? I apologise if it's absolutely necessary, but. As it is, it sounds like you're worried about interfering with your doctor's golf game.

well if you pick friday you wont be taking your son probably if you just coming home from the hospital with a new baby. i would call your sons doctor and explain your situation, perhaps they will let you bring him in before then, they are probably just checking an incision site or something after surgery, depending on when the surgery was, they would probably let you come in before hand. are you married?, could your hubby take him...

It depends on his days that he is at the hospital/birthing center. Or the urgency of the induction.
