Last summer, my husband was approached by an HR director for a company in NC. They had semi-serious interviews -- then, at the last minute, the company decided to go with a contractor.
So now a month ago, this same lady calls him back. She says the contractor didn't work out, and they want to talk with him again. He has FOUR interviews over the phone, they fly him down to meet him in person, and have THREE more interviews. The HR director sends him a benefits package and they start talking about relocation.
After the seventh interview, this company mysterious disappears. They won't return his calls or anything. Then he gets a cheesy automated email that they're not going to hire him
What would you do?

I don't think there is much that you can do at this point. It doesn't sound like the company was ever under any formal obligation to your husband. Simply put, if the company had just ditched him at the last minute on the previous ocassion, I wouldn't have provided the company with a second chance to do so.

La-ame. Similar situations have happened to me. Employers can be so inconsiderate. Unfortunately, there's not too much you can do at this point. You might want to advise your husband just to hang up the phone if they call back. :)
