I am in interest in a orginization and i am asked to provide an official transcript. but in the application i have to sign a waiver to let the school release my grades to the orginization... it would really save me 15 dollars to just let the school give them my gpa why do i have to provide a transcript anyway?

For whatever reason, the organization wants to check on your college career in an official way. Many people including business leaders, college presidents and government officials have claimed to have degrees they didn't go for or didn't complete.

it is standard for organizations and employers to request offical documentation they just can't take everyone on their word...if it is that important to you than the $15 shouldn't really matter...you'll have to do the same if you want to go to grad school...
