Got a new shower head that filters out chlorine! One of the best investments I have made so far. I hope to get a complete filtration system. everything is better! My skin is better!! No blimishes whatsoever! I also drink alot of distilled or purified water. ever since I have done this my health has improved tremendously. But yet if you try to tell everyone about it some will give you the cold shoulder. Oh well! I guess I can go with what I know works! Seems like common sense would tell you that if tap water kills fish it probably isn't fit to drink!!!

I know its a catch 22 for the government. But they could at least be honest and say that you should filter the water before drinking it. I understand that it is very difficult to kill all of the microbes without chlorine, but they should simply say how the chlorine effects your health.

My house uses a drilled well as its water source. No chlorine is added to the water. When I visit other people's homes on municipal water it is quite easy to notice the smell from their water. I thought people making this complaint were out of their minds until I moved into this house. Now I'd never want to go back.
I understand the reasoning for chlorination and would not support dismantling the system. It is there to remove bacteria and other harmful organisms from the water. If you have a method of removing it before use you will be better off. Remember to change the filter elements frequently...
The house has a water softener to remove calcium, magnesium, and a small amount of iron. What comes out the tap is very good. I've also added a small reverse osmosis filter to further remove impurities.
I have an even bigger problem with the propaganda fed to us regarding cow's milk... Do some reading on that topic for even more alarming views.

Hey Guitarman, I think you're exaggerating a little bit. Chlorinated water is not EXTREMELY harmful. If it was we would all be walking around crippled or gasping for air (maybe spouting large growths) but we aren't. What is EXTREMELY harmful is contaminated water.... Do you know how many MILLIONS of people DIE world wide every year from diseases passed on by contaminated water. We are lucky that we have water treatment plants to keep our water safe to drink.
That being said.... I'm sure that bottled water tastes better than tap water....but chlorinated water (chlorinated at the proper level) is perfectly safe to drink....bath in (come on man they bath newborns with water right out of the tap),...wash your clothes in.....water the grass with (doesn't harm plants).....
If you feel better (and you MAY) it is primarily due to something called the placebo effect. The reason some people are giving you the cold shoulder on this subject is because they know all of the things I know about water.....and they think you're a little nuts. :-)
Hope this helps answer your question!

Well, if it makes you feel any better guitarman, I don't think you're nuts. I'm definitely pro pure filtered water. My health has improved vastly since getting myself a water filter jug for about $25.00 AUD 2 months ago. I use it for vegies, coffee, noodles drinking water, anything I possibly can. I even give it to the cat and the birds!! Stands to reason, doesn't it. Cats and birds don't have very long lifespans, imagine what all that calcium buildup does to the insides of their little bodies. People who don't use filtered water, have you looked inside your kettle lately??? If you live in a hard water area, as I do, you'll find loads of white scaling (calcium buildup) lining the inside of your kettle which eventually destroys it. Go filtered water, go filtered water, go filtered water, go filtered water, go filtered water, go filtered water........... Hey guitarman, who cares if they think we are nuts. We know there is chlorine, copper, etc. etc. in tap water at supposedly safe levels, let them continue to poison themselves.

I agree. And just as bad as chlorine is the fluoride many municipalities add to prevent tooth decay, even though there is not a shred of evidence to support that theory.
Did you buy one of those $20 things they advertise on TV?

yeah, i grew up drinking rainwater, i can stand tap water! its disgusting. my rainwater tank has 7 different filters in it, and then it goes into the house through a puratap so it is the best tasting water.
i havent thought of filtering my shower water, but i think thats a good idea. my old house had everything on rainwater, and we could really tell the difference when we washed our hair.

i have a home water softener system that eliminates chlorine and all the minerals through reverse osmosis. its the bomb! but its not cheap. you can find smaller versions at outdoor stores for purifying streams and creeks. amen and keep preaching.

in case you boil tap water maximum, if no longer all, of the Chlorine can were released in the previous the water reaches boiling element and little or no will proceed to be through the time that is cooled down. Boiling the water topersistent off the Chlorine is an noticeably intense priced and time eating way of taking away it. that is going to take extremely a time to boil a gallon of water and a minimum of an hour to relax it all the way down to a usable temperature afterwards. Use proprietary de-chlorinaters or tap water conditioners. They do the activity only as well and a great deal more low priced and swifter.

The denial is because they are trying to get the harmful natural stuff killed off to not harm us, why they cant turn around and take it out is a lack of will.

actually i agree with you
the long and short term affects are there..
many times people are sick and don't know why...Doctors will never tell you to change your water intake or that your skin is the largest organ on your body and how just about everything we put on it and take in are toxic.
What kind of shower head did you get ...I'm interested...
