Its really irritating. I may be jittery, but confident in general, and when I et up on stage, to sing or recite or whatever, my voice shakes, despite my relative ease! Obvoiusly, I'm not utterly comfortable with performing but if my head isn't too nervous i don't see why my body should be!

Keep going and practice a lot - it will disappear with time. Also avoid cafe and drink plenty of water before going on stage.

This simple breathing exercise will slow your metabolism down: Find a quite place. Breath in counting to 4. Hold it counting to 4. Breath out counting to 10.

Improvisation might help you getting over it too. Find a workshop near where you live and with time it should help you to relax and focus faster. The Alexander technique is great for that too. I've put their website and mine (about improv) bellow. All the best.

With experience comes relaxation. Just breathe, talk to people around the theatre to be less nerveous about who you're auditioning for. If it's too bad, either stop doing theatre or take stress relief classes or something of that nature. All I can say is relax.

just focus on staying still before either the performance or audition if it's an audition try to incorporate movement into your audition, or you could simply do something where you can control your movement such as crossing your arms or in some cases holding your face (hey it worked for me) & even if that doesnt work try not to think about it

It may not be nerves. Most likely it's adrenaline. You're getting a rush of it going through your body when you're up there, it's completely natural. I do it to. Just try to use it for extra energy.

Don't worry! Most people have that problem! You're lucky that you can get up and sing or talk infront of large groups of people! If you do it more often and think about what you're doing instead of what everybody else is, you should do fine!

i used to have this problem and still do. it helps to concentrate on what your saying more than anything, and squeezing something small in your hand. gets your mind off your body shaking.

nerves. that's all it is no matter what else you say about it. logically, you know there's nothing to be afraid of, but subconciously, you're petrified.
