My daughter is 12 and in the 7th grade. In elementary school there was a party - and all of the kids exchanged valentines. Now that she's in middle school - does she just do nothing? Do kids bring candy or cards for just their friends? What gets exchanged? I asked her last night if she wanted to get some candy (you know the kind in little boxes with a place to write To/From - and she said she just wasn't sure. What's considered the cool thing to do these days?

Well I'm in high school now, but I was in middle school 2 years ago. Just buy a bag of candy(any kind) and she can hand it out to her friends, teachers, everyone. If you don't write to/from, then the candy can go to everyone without leaving anyone, from best friends to people you just met. This is what I did and the kids liked that I gave candy out to everyone, not just my friends. I'm planning on doing that this year, too. It's simple, inexpensive and fun.

We don't do anything, Iam in the 8 th grade, we just give out candy to our friends or teacher and that it.
Oh! we buy valentine's grams ,their just a paper with heart on the outside, and you write on the inside, like a message, and then the teachers put the gram inside with a bag and inside there is candy. the more you get the more candy you will have.

im actually in the same position im 13 and in the 7th grade and i am kind of troubled about it too. Most people dont hand out valentines to everyone..and there are no parties for exchanging valentines. i would go to a website such as fredflare.com and look at there valentines. they are retro and they are really cute..i think she would like them.
