If the Twins spent 200 Million and didn't win a world series, i would be super pist!!

Spending so much money should give you a world series!!!

But, Yankee fans never know when to admit defeat.

You may as well ask if a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around...you know the rest.

Most Yankee fans will always defend george's decision, or define their spending from the "Red Sox spend almost as much" argument, and it is all stupid. Boston doesn't spend almost as much. The difference between the NY and Boston is some teams' total salary. BUT, Boston is way too high as well. There needs to be a cap, pure and simple. Let's put some sport back into the sport.

And yes, spending that much on a team of mercenary all stars and not winning is embarrassing. MLB playoffs are not like the NFL playoffs where it is one and done. The 5 and 7 game series make it so pretty much the best team should win. NY should be better, but because they are so stacked everyone is lazy and expects the other all stars to pick up the slack.

I'm a Yankee fan and I have to point out that the 200 million thing has been taken too far. I don't think I could say that they suck if they can't spend 200 million because I'm pretty sure last year they were under the 200 million mark. However, I know for certain that this coming season will be well under 200 million and they will not suck...most Yankee haters are upset because their teams' owners don't spend more to help their team win. Based on this past offseason it looks like most other teams overspent on mediocre players...the BoSox and possibly their fans have proven to be the biggest hypocrites and last season they didn't even make the playoffs. After their overspending this offseason on high-risk players they will mostlikely still end up losing the division.

Well, another genius talking about the Yankee payroll. Yeah, their payroll is high, but not as high as the last two years, and it's only going to keep going down.

If you are going to talk about the Yankees payroll, why don't you also mention that they paid over $80 MILLION to other teams in revenue sharing and luxury tax. That's money that goes to OTHER teams. Why don't you also mention that the Yankees didn't have any outrageous signings this offseason, like the Cubs with Soriano, the Astros with Carlos Lee, and Boston with Matsuzaka. Doesn't that tell you that they are not spending as much? DUH!!!

Why should we Yankee fans be embarrassed? No, we haven't won the World Series in over 6 years, but the Yankees are always a threat every year, and it will happen again soon.

Oh, and genius, learn to spell, it's "their team", not "there team". You lose all credibility just because of that, and the joke's on you. Now THAT'S just embarrassing.

Lets consider this for a while - Derek Jeter, Robinson Cano, and Chien-Ming Wang are all products of the Yankees farm system. We don't know who their first baseman will be this year, maybe someone from the farm system. People only talk about the Yankees spending so much money because they are the best team in the history of the MLB and are in NY. When was the last time the Cubs won the world series? 1908. How much did they spend this offseason? 300 million. Do you honestly think that they will win the world series this year? I dont think so, I don't even think they can win their division this year. So my answer is no, they won't admit they suck, they do win their division every year, and it's not at all embaressing.

Yankee fans are too arrogant/ignorant to admit anything bad about their team. When their team isn't playing well, all that they can talk about is the past. They live in their own little world

yeah..and what about the red sox, now spending in the same neighborhood, and the cubs, giants, mets, etc.

That arguement is old and not relevant anymore. Yankees dump Randy Johnson and Gary Sheffield, so take a closer look at the Yankees versus what the Red Sox and Cubs payroll is.

Remember this name: Phillip Hughes.... for he is the future.

Also:
Jeter (farm system)
Posada (farm system)
Cano (farm system)
Cabrera (farm system)
Wang (farm system)

any of these sound familiar?

Always the media or a disgruntled fan complaining about the payroll... I never hear the owners complain
