Problem #1
1-z = 1 - [(x + y)/x] Replace 1 with x/x so that you have common denominators.
x/x - [(x + y)/x] = [x - (x + y)]/x
= (x - x - y)/x
= D. -y/x

Problem #2
Let n = a number. To get to the next consecutive number, you add 1 to n, or n + 1. Product means you multiply n and n+1, so you get n(n+1) which equals n^2 + n. The answer is therefore E.

Problem #3.
If n is the first number in a series of 3 consecutive even numbers, you would add 2 to n to get to the next consecutive number (or n+2) and add 2 to that to get to the third consecutive even number (or n+2+2 or n+4). Therefore, the sum would be (n) + (n+2) + (n+4) = 3n + 6. Your answer is D.

I do no think you copied the first problem correctlt but I could be wrong.

I think the answer of 1 is 1-z = 1-x-y/x

2. Two consecutive integers are represented as sucn

n and n+1 (n)(n+1) N( to the power of 2) + n

3. Kind of same as 2.

Consecutive even numbers are for example 2, 4, 6

or n, n+2, n+4 (n) + (n+2) + (n+4) = n + n + 2 + n + 4 = 3n+6

1.) If z=x+y/x,
1-z=1-(x+y/x)
=1-x-y/x
which is none of the answers given

2.)Which of the following expressions represents the product of two consecutive integers?

let N be the first integer then the second integer is N+1

product=N*(N+1)
=N^2+N

which is the answer E

3.) If n is the first number in a series of three consecutive even numbers, which of the following expressions represents the sum of three numbers

the first number is n the second one is n+2 and the third one is n+4

so the sum of those is
n+n+2+n+4
=3n+6

which is D
