My GF and I have never been to Dallas, TX and we want to go to places to dine and have fun in that we have never been too. Please recommend us some. We are looking for an AWESOME place to eat out in. Any place you know? How about a nightclub or something in that genre for young couples? ALL INFO IS EXCEPTED!

Lucky for you, Dallas is filled with really great restaurants. Depends on what you want to eat and how much you want to spend. For sushi, I'd go to Steel (near Uptown). We have Nobu but it's very expensive and many people here don't bother with dropping that kind of cash. As the other poster said, Craft is supposed to be good but I haven't been yet. My neighbor is a chef at Nine, also newly opened next to the American Airlines arena, which is supposed to have great food. My latest favorite is Stephen Pyles, on Ross Ave. He's known for his amazing desserts...try the "coffee & donuts."

The Uptown area has great bars, shopping and restaurants. I'd avoid Deep Ellum since the crime has driven the place downhill. It will have its heyday again as it always does but now is not that time. Greenville Ave. is also a good spot for dining and nightlife but I don't think the number of really great restaurants compares to Uptown.

GhostBar opened several months ago atop the W Hotel if you want a higher end club. If you want a more laid back atmosphere go to The Quarter on McKinney Ave. Across the street from that is Republic. If you want to get completely loaded on one drink go to The Loon. It's in a random, non-descript strip mall to the right of a Subway on Lemmon Ave. (Walking distance from The Quarter and Republic). It's a laid-back, fun bar but you'll leave smelling like an ashtray and probably blitzed out of your mind.

Hotels: Depends on your price range but The W is nice and ZaZa Hotel is unique and both are in Uptown, by all the nightlife. Be prepared to spend about $250-$300/night.

Have fun and welcome to Dallas!

P.S. Forget Texas Stadium. It's almost an eyesore now, which is why the Cowboys are getting a new stadium in Arlington. If you're flying into DFW and driving towards downtown, you'll see it and say, "yep, there it is..." And that will be about it.

I think this may be a repeated question. Either case I've relisted the answer....

Go to guidelive.com to find all that's going on in the DFW area. On restaurant I suggest is The Magic Time Machine. It's really cool there and food is great.

You can also try riding our public transportation "The Dart Rail". It's an electric train that passes through Downtown Dallas. "The West End" is located in downtown and contains a lot of restaurants and clubs. It's also where the JFK memorial is located. You can take a tour through the museum and walk the street where the president JFK was assassinated.

There is also a Historical Park (formerly Old City Park) that has original houses and buildings that date back into the early 1900's. It's outside the downtown area.

Hope you enjoy you're stay here in Big D!

The Craft steakhouse in the W hotel is great for an upscale lunch. The hotel is brand new on that side of town and part of a major new development.

Lower Greenville and Deep Ellum are major bar/club areas in town. You can find a lot of good little shops during the day, and some great places to get a drink at night. If you google either of those areas you should find some more specific details on what's available.

I was recommended to take the tour of Texas Stadium by someone who loved it, and isn't a Cowboys fan at all. I plan to one day

The Craft steakhouse contained in the W inn is tremendous for an upscale lunch. The inn is clean on that part of city and area of a serious new progression. decrease Greenville and Deep Ellum are major bar/club aspects on the city. you'll hit upon quite a number of solid little shops in the course of the day, and some tremendous places to get a drink at evening. in case you google both of those aspects you ought to discover some better particular information on what's accessible. i grow to be counseled to take the excursion of Texas Stadium via someone who loved it, and is not a Cowboys fan in any respect. I plan to faster or later

You have to visit the Stockyards in Ft. Worth. I realize this isn't in Dallas, but always a fun experience. They also have several bars/clubs that seems to attract the younger scene. Have fun, and hope you enjoy your stay here.
