When the truth is, you're not. Some people always call others ignorant, stupid etc. using such awful terms to describe people when you know you're no better. When one asks a question that you have the answer to, you call them ignorant just because they dare to ask? No one knows everything. You're gonna have to learn a lot more. There's no destination for knowledge. By calling people ignorant, you're telling others that you are closed minded & arrogant. A mind is the most beautiful, most powerful, & a priceless weapon that everyone has. Don't waste them? Well, my question is. Do you criticize people just because they want to learn & discover? If you or your family members constantly label others, what can you do to stop you/them from doing it?

When I meant to say you're no better than anyone, is because I believe every human being is equal to each other

Excuse me for not being specific. I'm not saying I know the answer to my own question nor did I say I'm right or wrong. Did you even take time reading my questions?

You are correct as far as it being wrong for people to sling insults at one another over differences in philosophy, religion or politics, but in the "real world" there are indeed "yardsticks" by which we are measured, and some are "better" in terms of the "basic skills set" that is required to conduct business like mature social interaction and in performing one's job.

I have known people - we've all known them - who just have very little regard for the most common of social conventions; common courtesies, I'd call them. People who will take the path of least effort and resistance. People with no regard for organization, which is extremely aggravating if you have to work with them.

The "old timers" in the shop used to refer to that as "give-a-s__t," saying,"all it takes, you know, is just a little give-a-s__t."

You either have pride in yourself and your work...or you do not. And you are indeed "measured" by that.

I agree that labels are absolutely lame and pointless, but being someone with personal pride is certainly not a form of "arrogance."

So, yes, in many ways we are all "equal," and in other ways we most certainly are not.

i don't. i never have done and i never will. every one has their faults and those that say otherwise are lying. we are all human and humans make mistakes. therefore, i don't consider myself as being superior or better than everyone else. as for an answer to your question, no i don't criticise others, all because they want to learn and find out. i rarely do, but rather i have a opinion or point of view of which you don't have to agree with. and besides, just because you have an opinion doesn't imply that everyone must agree with it. at the same time however, one must be open to new ideas and of whom is prepared to listen, and if neccessary act on it or counter act on it. i always treat people on their merits and never favour myself or certain people over others

I believe that if you call someone ignorant, and they really are (like drug addicts who don't want to quit, etc.) then it's not being arrogant. But if it is someone who wants to learn and thrives for success, I would perhaps be a mentor or teacher to them. There are a few people that I know I'm better than, but I don't mean that in a way that means I can look down upon them.

I clicked onto this question because it sounded interesting but I was accosted with negativity and unmerited judging. How disappointing. Why ask such a question when you already think you know all the answers?

I would work with yourself first son. The first 2 sentences you have are:

Why do you consider yourself better than others?
When the truth is, you're not.

So you tell me sir... are not labeling us before we have a chance to answer back. Tell me sir... what can YOU do to stop YOU from doing it?

Yes and no. some people are mean with no manners im not like that very much. but were not better because of how much money or where we come from. its just by our personal integrity. the man with the honest and caring heart is better than the liar and cheater. but we all make "mistakes" no1 is perfect and every1 should have equal opportunity. wether they use their opportunity or not is their choice.

Who is the "YOU" that your question refers to?

Personally, I have never considered myself better than anyone else. Some people were born or thrust into circumstances that gave them a better start in life, but their status in the community does not make them "better" than anyone else.

The best among us do not judge others. Period. End of discussion.

The only reason I consider myself better than others is so that I can feel justified in my actions to harm them. If I am not better than something how do I have the right to harm it? If I am better then my needs come before the other. I am better than you so I can damn you to hell. So I can feast upon you sarrow. Survival of the strongest, so I must be stronger than others to survive. So to answer your question I am better because I fear death.

I don't consider myself 'better', but I do consider myself
'special' (not the kind that gets on the short bus).
If your parents label you - leave home; if your friends do
it, get new friends. You are special too.
