With most fuel injected engines it won't do anything but make it harder to start if you hold it down. Its not like a carburetor where you can give it a little extra gas. The cold start valve will do the trick be itself. There is no need to hit the gas first. In some cases by holding the gas peddle down a very little it might make it start easier but that would apply if the throttle body is dirty. Fuel injection starts better if you don't touch the gas pedal. Good Luck and GOD Bless.

You don't have to "pump" the gas pedal before starting a fuel injection car. Back in the days of carbuerators you had to because that is the way the gas got to it. Fuel injectors eliminate that step.

You are not suppose to touch the gas pedal in fuel injection vehicles when you are trying to start them.It could mess up the computer in some vehicles.

It should not hurt the car because the fuel injection system is electronic so when the car is turned off no power to the engine then you can hit the gas pedal as much as you want but, you don't want to that to an carbrator fuel system (old cars) or you'll flood the engine with fuel.

Since most newer cars have electronic fuel injection, giving it the gas before you start the car will do absolutely nothing.

it wouldnt do anything like a carburated vehicle would, fuel injection is all electronic so hitting the pedal wont do anything

(yes) but if the fuel system is right it wont matter but if you hold the throttle down it more then likely wont start it will just spin over the injectors are opened and closed by a crank sensor that fires them when the motor is turning over.
