My clay mask usually burns when my face is dehydrated. I just mix in a dab of my favorite skin creme with the mask before I apply it. (apply it with a brush)

A tingling may be normal, but a burn isn't. You may be allergic to an ingredient in the mask, or reacting to another substance that you're using on your face. Either way, you shouldn't use it because you can get chemical burn (This will make your face red and your skin "raw like" and irritable).

I agree with gabbycatlove...my face mask burns when my skin is dry. Make sure you're using a moisturizer regularly! That can help. If it's really bad though, you may want to try another face mask. Brands like Clinique and Estee Lauder are pricy, but Macy's, Bonton, and other stores that sell them have people there who might be able to recommend something for your skin type, and they sell really good quality stuff.

this all depends on what type of mask it is if it is a toning mask it will probably work that way. if it burns alot that you cant stand it your skin is probably very sensitive and you should try a mask for sensitive skin. i have used masks alot and i stopped using them beause they took a layer of skin off my face and now my skin is more sensitive than ever!!! i would recomend only using a mask maybe 3 times a month, be careful which type of masks you are using and do not use peel away masks they are terrible and make you break out and dry out your skin!!!

I am experiencing this too except im using the Burts Bees facial scrub and it really burns right now. I think it s because my skin is really dry especially around my nose. I m not 100% sure tho so I might just never use it again lol

Not really unless it was toothpaste.
Try honey and eggwhite mask, rinse with hot and then cool
try aloe vera gel on face afterwards.

This could mean you may be having an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients in the facemask. But some facemask CAN burn just a little but then eventually it will stop when the liquid sets on your face. But if there is any allergic please seek some medical attention please for your safety.
