Dry here so bring a few bottles of water to start you off with, no smoking in the places that serve food[can smoke in the gambling area], cabs are expensive and the monorail is no cheaper so bring a good pair of walking shoes, bring money, personal checks are very frowned upon and been known to be rejected, ATM all over the place,Thurs through Monday every place usually busy so attempt to get reservations if you want to be at a certain place ahead of time, temperatures could be in the low 80's by then, have fun[do not plan on going to see Hoover Dam unless willing to give up most of one day]

if you're going to visit any of the major clubs, you should visit
vegas.com...this website is awesome because it will allow you to buy something called front of the line passes. basically you buy these passes (priced at about $5-$10 over the cover charge) and you can get into those clubs without having to wait in line. you have to pay the cover anyway, so it's a good idea to buy these passes so you'll save a bunch of time and be able to hit up a couple of different spots each night.

make friends with one of the cab drivers and get his number. that way when you're ready to go to the next stop, you can call him directly to come pick you up instead of waiting in the long *** cab lines.

oh....you should also try the witch's brew at the voodoo lounge on top of the rio...you'll have a killer time after drinking that for sure. have fun!

I went for the first time last February. Be prepared to experience "the city that never sleeps" and you won't either!!! It is such an adrenaline rush, that you forget what time it is. I stayed in the Palms Casino resort and visited all of the others, Bellagio, Venetian, Paris, etc., It was incredible! Get rest before you go, and plan atleast one day at home afterwards to recover!!!!

You need to know that 1. The Strip has horrendous traffic almost all the time. Try to avoid it by using monorails or side streets. 2. Walking is also slow because the casinos are often huge. Using cabs, the Deuce bus, shuttles or whatever will all take time, so take that into consideration. 3. Researching vegas.com, vegas4visitors.com, and lvadvisor.com, to decide on what you want to see and do is the best tip you'll get! You'll also get tips on saving money and almost anything else you want to know. 4. You WILL NEED RESERVATIONS for nice restaurants and shows, especially for Fri/Sat nights. Believe me.

april may be one of the slower times for the city. But belive me. your not going to miss out by just going in the "off season". this town runs 24/7/365 no matter what. there are always people there and your still going to have fun. the best part is that most everything is cheaper.

Much less formal dress than you think, down right slobby most places, the night clubs you need to dress up a little more--say corporate casual type thing...Expect NO VEGETATION, expect to have a blast...
