There have been several scams going on currently that involve a person receiving an e-mail stating that they have won a lottery (Usually in a foreign country) and all they need to do to claim the prize is either send an official check or wire some money because of different reasons.
So I would probably delete the e-mail. It is definitely a scam.

It isnt true...
How can you win any lottery if you didnt play/participate?
these scams will tell you, you won, and then they will tell you that they will send a courier which you will have to pay to recieve your check.
Just delete the email, and dont give them your information.
There are scams like this all over the world.

I won the one in the UK....But, I turned them down and then there was the one from Africa. I had to go there to collect.
And, then there was the one from Miss Dimples with the cutsy pony tail telling me how her boyfriend beat her up and now she is stuck in some hotel room in Nigeria. Wants me to wire her some money to pay her bill and fly back to the USA. She promised she would make it up to me when she came home...Yeah, right.
It's all a scam to try to get somke numbers from you...Social Security Number, Bank Account, Home Address, etc....
Do yourself a favor and ignore it. If you feel inclined to answer the e mail telling you about a fortune you won, take the e mail to the nearest F.B.I. Office...I did.

Depends - did you enter the Australian Lottery? If not, then I would say it isn't true.

Ask yourself a question, did you buy a ticket? And are they asking you to send them money? If your answer is no to the first question and yes to the second question, guess what you won!!!! YOU WON the BIG SCAM, congratulations. Now how much did you say that you were going to send them?

Really??? Me, too! Just click on the link in the email, enter your social security number or bank information......Don't forget your credit card number and expiration date....
Seriously, if you didn't enter the contest, it's a fraud.
