I think that in an ideal situation they are balanced. But maybe some of us have an extremely powerful predisposition toward something and in that case, the nature would win. Same may hold true for if you have an overwhelming incident in life that proves to be extremely powerful in governing your actions throughout life, then in that case the nurture, or environment, factor wins. I think that the truth is that it varies depending on environment, and a person predisposition to be effected by it. But as a general rule I believe they are both potentially as much of a powerful decided as the other.

Whichever one is the most out of the ordinary in an individual's life is the more powerful influence. We tend to discount the significance of that which is similar to other people's situation, and emphasize that which is different.

I do not think either nature or nurture is always on top in terms of influence. The twin studies show that there are mixtures of both elements. Twins raised apart tend to have many characteristics in common which are not normally thought of as "physical," such as tone of voice, favorite foods, things like that. But that could just be that they are both more or less normal. The very fact that they are not completely different suggests that their common genetic heritage is important. And the fact that they are not as similar as twins who are raised together suggests that nurture is important.

So as I say, I think it is whatever is out of the ordinary that has the most influence.

The answer I hate more than any other. It's C. Both! And then some!! All of everything blends!! A parent can use it to make themselves feel responsible either way. But you probably aren't a parent yet! I say it's both and more. @8-)

I have to say both. Your genes can make for certain talents, but the way you are raised has a lot to do with how you use them...and how successful you become.
