I lived in Boston for Ten years (I'm not a Red Sox fan). I never thought they would win it, but they did. I think the Cubs have a shot, though I'm not thrilled that they hung on to Prior and Woods. Too much time on the IR (who cares about potential). They did it up this off season.
Besides HBO is doing a special on the curse, it broke it for the Red Sox!

If they stay healthy, I think there line-up looks really tough with Soriano, Lee, ARam, and Barrett. I still have a lot of questions about their pitching, I don't understand why they would give 20 million to Jason Marquis, I think he should of gotten a minor league contract. Ted Lily is pretty average, Prior/Wood are huge question marks. The only sure thing is Zambrano. I think they will be a much improved team, but I'm not sure if they have a shot.

HEY HEY CUBS FANS!!!! The Cubs will definitely have a better team than last year. So, they will have a shot with their new acquisitions. Good luck to the Cubs and the Cubs fans in 2007.

no shot. Cubs should have learned the lessons from the Yankees. You can't spend a ton of money and hope for a championship. Ted Lilly will be a bust, Soriano will strike out more than you think (and boot more balls at 2nd) and all that money will seem like a waste when you don't make the playoffs or get eliminated in the 1st round

Tiger fan for life. The Cubbies are my National League team. First major league game I ever went to was at Wrigley. The only place in Chicago to watch major league baseball.

Well let me start off by saying that I am a white sox fan. Now with that out of the way, I think you guys have a great shot at the championship. I must say the off season has been nice to you. Everything looks good except for one thing. She all these off season moves (soriano, cotts, lilly) all were great moves but I think you jeopardized your chances when you signed Piniella. Other then him being your manager I think you guys have a great shot.
