Pull the toilet off and re install the wax ring because it has been installed incorrectly. Apperently the wax ring is blocking the flow of the water going into your mainline. Either that or their might be a blockage in your toilet. If this is the case you need to auger toilet

if you put the wax ring on the flange then set the toilet on it you very well could have plugged the hole in the bottom of the toilet. If the toilet worked fine before, this is what happened. pull the toilet, put the wax ring on the bottom of the toilet, then set it in place. I also recommend not using the wax rings with the rubber horn on them, they restrict the flow and are more likely to cause a blockage.

Depending on the manufacturer of your toilet the opening in the bottom of the toilet will be either 2" or 2 1/2". It wouldn't take alot of wax to block it enough to make the bowl back up.

Dont remove anything just yet. Take an ordinary plunger to the thing. Next take a snake to it and open it up that way if plunger doesnt work.

Impossible that wax ring could 100% block a toilet and still seal it to the drain. It would leak like crazy at floor line if you had replaced that wax ring incorrectly.

Toilet is plugged.

Are you talking about a toilet? It sounds that your wax ring has plugged the drain. If you follow the instructions on the wax ring, it should be self explainable.

I disagree with the answerer. It would take tennis ball to plug the waste line. If this thing flushed ok before you worked on it it should still flush.. The only thing I can think of i, When you replaced the closet gasket(wax ring) it comes packed with a piece of heavy, translucent paper on the top face of the seal......Did you remove it before replacing the Toilet????????????????????????

Did you remove that rag you used to plug the hole while you were working?
