Where did your unit serve?
How much combat did you see and what was that like?
Did you get injuried?
How did you get treated when you got home?
What the war worth fighting for?

First off I would tell the Veteran how proud I am that he served our country.

The questions are as follows:

1. What branch of service were you in?
2. Depending on the branch of service the questions would vary.
3. If he was a Marine; What were your duties as a Marine; were you a pilot, ground support, helicopter, etc?
4. Army- Ask similar; what were your duties; ground support, helicopter, etc
5. Navy & Airforce: What were your duties; pilot, what carrier they served on, destroyer or submarine.
6. What they thought about the war in Vietnam and how the U.S. government handled the whole Vietnam crisis.
7. Serving in the military during that era, how did it change your life or prospects in your life?
8. How can you compare and contrast the Vietnam War & the war in Iraq?
9. How many years did you serve in the Military?

1) What was the most frightening moment?
2) How did the war affect your life afterwards?
3) How would your life have been if there never was a war?
4) What did you learn during this experience?
