If your question is where the Mohawk were historically located, it was in what is now the state of New York.
They were a major force in the Iroquois League (originally known as The Five Nations. comprised of the Mohawk, Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, and Oneida; then the the Six Nations, after the majority of the Tuscarora left what is now North Carolina in the early 18th century--sometime around 1715). Through this league, they exerted great influence over many other tribes, including the Lenni Lenape, Shawnee, and some of the New England tribes.
