Yes, any Cast Member with a Lanyard or small Pin Board kept on their belt must trade with you. The pin boards will generally be worn by Custodial or Managment.

However, there are exceptions and some basic rules.

All Trades are 1 to 1

The pin you trade must be a Disney Pin, this can be anything owned by disney.

There are "Super Traders" these cast members do not have to trade with you. They can be identifed because instead of a lanyard with a few pins, they have Pin Trading Vests that have a lot of pins. There are very few of these cast members so it is likely you may see only 1 or two, or even none while you are there.

There are also "Kids Only" Lanyards, where the Cast Members can only trade with kids. They can not trade any pins with Adults. These are generally a different color than the regular ones, I beleive that they are a teal color but not exactly sure. If you try to trade a pin they cast member will let you know.

To start your collection you can go into a majority of the stores. They will either have a starter set, which is a Lanyard and Pins. Or you can buy the Lanyard and pins separtly. When you purchase your pins you can also ask for the pin trading guidelines that give you some other do's and dont's

I ask them all the time and they will trade anything. To start off your collection you can buy lanyards with 4 pins on them. there are 2 sets of doubles. Two to keep and two to trade. There are lots of rare ones empoyees have. My bro got one from like 2000 one time
