I'm an American living in Australia. I loved Steve Irwin for years before deciding to live down under. I was devastated when he died. It was like looking a close member of the family.

When i came to Australia, Aussies never hesitated to tell me how much they disliked the Croc Hunter because he made them all look like Yobos (red necks). They criticised and taunted every move he made. Now that's he's gone everyone is going on about how tragic it is and how much he'll be missed which really peaves me off. They only care that he's gone because they've lost their #1 tourist attraction. I can't stand hippocrates! Does this bother anyone else?

I feel the same way as you. He was always himself and such a funny guy. The world has lost a great human being, who was genuine! I think the Aussies had to fake it because the rest of the world was devastated by his death. I still mourn the loss of such a wonderful person. He will always be remembered.

I agree with you. I have seen alot about the Croc hunter and I have talked with alot of aussies. The way that people act when people are alive and then turn around and act like they care when they are dead Peaves me off just as much.

I HATE hypocrates very much. They are another thing in this world that I think shouldnt exist. I did like the Croc Hunter very much and I remember watching the show many years ago. I think what he did was a wonderful thing, because it educated not only children but adults as well.

I will truly miss him and miss his educated advice.

That's wrong to say that. I always thought he was kind of stupid and weird for doing what he did and put himself at risk when he had a wife and kids. But yeah it's a sad thing and it always is when someone dies, even more when they have a family. He will defiantly be missed and remember by people all of the world. It's weird though thinking the crocodile hunter is dead, it just strange.

you can't worry about minor things like this or you'll have a heart attack by the time your 50. Seriously, is it that big of a deal? Of course they're going to be sad that he's dead....it's human nature sweetie. And to answer your question, yes I "really" miss Steve Irwin and i'm not "faking" it.

There's a newscaster (reporter) here on CNN that talks like Steve Irwin, without thinking I always look. Steve Irwin's family was on Larry King show a couple of weeks ago, my heart ached for them. I know their lives are empty without him, now, but I know they are strong.

Never watched him before. It's sad that he died, but I don't know him personally and so it's not really tragic to me. He died doing what he loved, and a smart person knows that all the people in a country can't be represented by one person. (Shoot, does that mean that the rest of the world thinks that all Americans are like Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan etc?? Dude, that's bad....)

Hippocrates!!! Isn't it strange how people react to such tragic issues as this. Yes, they made him out to be such a bizarre, crazy, wild man but now, they act as if they care. I think it is awesome that his daughter is picking up where her father left off. She will be the next hero for Australia one day.

I was so very upset when Steve died, I could not believe it and was crying all afternoon with each up date, and then with the weeks that followed, his passing is a huge lost to us all, especially his family. I am so proud of his family and there approach with pushing on to do what steve believed in.

You can't stand hypocrites, not Hippocrates.
Yes, I LOVED Steve Irwin. And I grieved for him. (Still do.) Maybe they didn't know a good thing until it was gone.
