Go with Emily-Rose or Melanie-Rose instead of Melrose. Melrose makes me think of a crap 90's TV show.

Emily for me seems like a little girl, but I couldn`t picture it for anyone when they`re older. I like Melrose too. People might call her Mel or Rose though. You need to think of what people might nickname her when you`re picking a name out. I like the nickname Mel, so if you could get people to call her Mel or call her Melrose, thats good. I would hate it if she was nicknamed Rose though. I don`t like that name at all!!
