No, what do those idiots who quit school do for the rest of they lives, hitch hike?
How are they going to flip the fries if they can't get to work.

I like your question.
Yes, I think a student should receive their high school diploma before being able to apply for their driver's license.
If a student would need a diploma to get their driver's license then they would have to probably raise the age to like 18. Those 2 years make a big difference in maturity. I think it would also make them more responsible and make more students graduate instead of dropping out.

You don't need a High School diploma to get a driver's license. High School diploma have nothing to do with a driver license. It's two separate things. You just need to learn the driving law and practice how to drive on the road.

This is a good question for an essay or something along the idea...one of the Canadian Provinces are actually thinking of passing a law that states that a high school diploma will be needed in order to get a drivers license...now, with that said, and please stay with me, becuase I know a lot of people will disagree...but this same province is having problems with getting its student's to stay in school and pass...the plan is to get more students to graduate by keeping them in school with this proposal...now, you may want to agree/disagree with this topic becuase people will say that you need a high school education to work... As a high school teacher, I see 50% of high school student's drop (starting in Grade 9) out by the time they hit grade 11. Why is this? A couple of reasons, first of all, they are tempted to go into the work force - and get paid quite hansome. In all cases, my students in Northern Ontario have an option to go fire fighting, or tree planting - in both cases they make more money than I do in three weeks time (they have to do this with a 12-16 hour work day @ 18-20 bucks an hour). Thus, their education is being less valued- and most of the hiring is done by the government. The students think that this is the greatest thing (seasonal). Unfortunetly, their employment is limited to a number of years becuase of the age restriction and physical mantatory requirements...after that they want to go back to school, finish their education and become somewhat better.... Now, if this province decides to say, "hey, every student, or every person out there, is required to get a diploma, then you are liscened to drive". Could this make the situation better, or limit its workforce to smarties behind the wheel, or keep the dummies from driving?
Con's: 1. People may start family life early than usual and need to support there family... i e., teen age girls & boys. 2. Teen's who might have disabled parents and want to support them 3. People who do not want to leave their communities to school - rather work.

Getting your license has nothing to do with getting your diploma, they're 2 separate things. Maybe outside the US it's different, but in the US, you can either take driver's ed in high school and get your license that way. Or, you can wait until you turn 18 and just go take the road test at the dmv. Getting your diploma has nothing to do with it.

No. A high school diploma is not needed, however, if you want to ever get a good job you better have more than just a high school diploma.

Of course not. You can get a license at 16. Most kids don't graduate high school until they are 17 or 18.

no way, i drive to school all the time. you may mean the transcript that you need to get from the guidance office. and that is only proof so they see that you attend school and your address matches and stuff. but i hope this is long enough!
good luck on the test! permit test wasn't that hard, don't be sad if you fail the first time only like 6 percent of people pass on the first time, and don't forget to take behind the wheel.
