"Gone With the Wind"...Scarlet O'Hara starts out as a rich, spoiled snooty debutante and ends the film as a mature, much more humble woman.

The Count of Monte Cristo. The main character, Edmond' Dontes goes through tremendous change, from a naive' young man with few skills and a pure heart, to a wise and cunning man of the world who finally can deal with his bitterness and thirst for vengeance, and learns the value of love.

I have to agree with the guy above who said the Count of Monte Cristo....great movie.
