With so many radical fundamentalists around the world professing their hatred for America and their desire to see it suffer, why haven't they succeeded acting upon their threats?

This is my plain opinion here. I think that the terrorists have accomplished one of the purposes that they have set out to do. they have "terrorized" the american people. The government now has to spend billions of dollars on security and everybody is scared that the terrorists will attack. Also you must remeber that Bush has tightened up security. Bush does not deserve much of the blame that people give him on the 9-11 issue. That doesn't mean he hasn't messed up, but you must remember that politics are not the best thing. From what i have read it takes a couple of years for the President of any time to actually get his ideas and laws going. Bush hadn't been in the white house for a year. The 9-11 thing happened because of a lack of funding and many other complications that now are trying to be fixed but yet nothing will every be perfect.

There are 1200 terrorist groups in 150 cities in the US w/weapons. The FBI knows this so where is this Homeland Security we keep hearing about? Also something might happen soon b/c pres of Iran sent pres Bush that kiss of death letter requesting he conform to Islam or be as an infidel(a format they use b4 attack). This in relation to the announcement of their 'Mahdi' returning in spring, which has to be surrounded by chaos, should be a red flag. Hopefully our govt is up on this.

go up to someone you kind of know... and give them a wedgie... just out of the blue...

odds are... they won't be expecting it... and you can do it pretty easily before they know what is going on...

then... go up to the person the next day and try it again... not so easy... they are expecting it and you will be met with quite a bit of resistance... if the person is stronger than you, odds are you won't be able to do it...

this is a very small example of what the U.S. is doing... we got caught off guard, but now we are paranoid and it's very difficult to successfully attack someone who is powerful and paranoid...

I mean did you fly pre-9-11... you could get a chainsaw on the plane almost and no one cared...

we were over confident are ripe for the picking, unfortunately...

but hopefully we've learned and it won't happen again...

Well, the US government has a lot on their plate right now so I suppose they don't need to orchestrate any for a while. Perhaps when support for the war in Iraq wains a little more, or maybe something Iranian if they decide it's worth invading.

1) It's easier to attack Americans in the Middle East.

2) Better national security.

3) The war in Afghanistan and Iraq is keeping them strained financially and physically.

Maybe we are better prepared than we were back then. Maybe we are more aware that it can happen. Maybe we don't want another 9/11 so we are aware of our surroundings and care enough to do something about it when things don't look right. Sad it took such a tragedy to make us aware of terrorists around us.
Then again, maybe they dont want to get bombed again!

Certainly not because of GW Bush if that's what you are trying to imply!
Let's not forget 9/11 happened on George's watch!

I don't know. I'm still trying to figure out why I haven't been hit by lightning since my last one. Crazy.
