hmmmm
twenty-some years ago, I came to realise that this world wasn't all that it can be. At that point I decided to forego the message of the "selfish gene" and elected not to be a father.
This has seen a few relationships go sour, but I maintain my stand. I have a great deal of compassion for the Earth and her inhabitants and could not bear to inflict such a miserable place upon another.
One of my main reasons - in a very practical and pragmatic sense - is that a person consumes something in the order of $250 000 worth of resources in their first 20 years. I'd imagine that it would be a lot more beyond those first 20 when we begin to adopt the materialistic lifestyle all of us in the west have become accustomed to! So, to do my own part in slowing the rate at which we consume meant taking the fairly difficult decision not to put another mouth on the planet. It's been damn hard at times, but every time I think along the lines of fatherhood, I look out the window at the rapacious greed that I see all around. That stops such thoughts dead in their tracks.
hehe....I am a teacher now, so I get my kid fix in a big way. The great thing about being a teacher is that I get to say "bye!" at the end of each day! all care, not much responsibility....
good luck with your little person. Try to impress upon them the values needed to live a "good" life (not going to preach. Not my responsibility to tell you how to bring up your child!!!) and see if you can get amongst an Organic Lifestyle. as far as consumption goes, I reckon that's as good a start as any....works for me, anyway.
Oh...get rid of your motorcar too. destructive beasts of things!!!!
Love and Light,
Jarrah

I kind of agree. I think that only people who can financially afford a child, and who are responsible adults (not on drugs, etc.) should have children. Women with three kids already that they can't feed should NOT have any more! Also, women who are substance abusers should not be allowed to have kids. My aunt adopted a crack baby who was left at the hospital. This baby's mother had had ten previous pregnancies and aborted some and had some, and was a crack-smoking prostitute. She had a baby at 24 weeks who wasn't supposed to survive. It's so damn sad. She's probably had five more kids by now.

exciting. i detect it puzzling to contemplate the information whilst a lot of political factions submit information on their web pages. an intensive chum is a chemical engineer and has completed very a lot of examining on the issue and believes there is something yet consensus. His take is that it relatively is a lot extra complicated than the scientific community is familiar with. isn't it wonderful how some people call it a fact? i don't be attentive to of something scientific that became into no longer a fact sooner or later and fiction the subsequent. it relatively is consistent in technology. i've got faith we would desire to continually act in a accountable thank you to maintain our planet sparkling simply by fact it relatively is the the superb option ingredient to do. no person is for pollution, and that i think of many individuals are turning out to be extra attentive to chemical compounds, and so on that are in basic terms risky. Al Gore would not be attentive to extra suitable than any scientist, and he's creating wealth from it. If he have been a Republican, each liberal at right here might blast him as a profiteer, so as this is a reason it relatively is skeptical. we will see. the main serious subject is oil dependency. we are enriching our enemy, and we would desire to alter into self sufficient.

I disagree. I understand where you're coming from, but I'm happy that we (still) have a choice. Any moron can have a child. It sucks for the child, but I'm glad that there are no restrictions on it.
I personally find the whole topic abhorrent and revolting, so I'm doing MY part not to bring any more kids into the world!
